The Challenge

Prime Video called us looking for social-first video content to support the release of the new movie Balls Up, an action comedy starring Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser.

The content needed to be funny, travel across markets, and make people want to watch the film.

Polished and branded wasn’t going to cut it. They needed real people, unscripted moments, and reactions audiences would actually share.

The Approach

We took it to the streets. Our crews headed to London, Los Angeles, and Mexico City to stop members of the public and ask them five questions they weren’t expecting. Among them: If you could guarantee your team wins the championship but had to give up sex for the entire season, would you do it? And if your sex life had a football chant, what would it be?

Vox pops were the natural fit. The format is unscripted, unpredictable, and hands the comedy straight to the people you’re filming. We produced six edits in total, two per location, all cut for social from the ground up. The footage was woven into the film’s teaser trailer and shared across markets.

Getting to work on a global project for Prime Video was such a joy. I’m always amazed by what people will say on a street, whether in London, Los Angeles or Mexico City – people just love to talk!”

The Impact

The edits caught attention quickly. The UK street interview video reached 180,000+ views on IGN’s Facebook alone. Across three cities and three continents, the campaign gave the Balls Up launch a PR hook that travelled, and the kind of content audiences genuinely engaged with.
